Episode 217 (WJ #10, 2002)
Stowaway
As Hina calls Smoker and tells him that she's not happy with him because he seems happy that the Going-Merry escaped, one of the last of Bon/Clay's ship attacks Hina. However, she dodges the man, and when he passes by her side, he gets locked up in a steel cuff around his body. [explanation: Hina's CageCage (oriori) Fruit locks up anyone who passes beside her - and that's why she's Hina the Black Cage...] All over Alabasta, people wonder who Vivi was speaking to, but whoever it was didn't matter because they had to answer to her love of the country. Back in Yuba, Toto can't stop laughing, as he is one of the very few who knew who Vivi was talking to -- and yells out that Luffy should come back and have some water at Yuba once again. In Rainbase, people close the casino, and start moving out to help the relief and reconstruction efforts all over the country. At the palace in Alubarna, Cobra is explaining the situation to the masses (and muses that being called "Father" instead of "Papa" was somewhat making him lonely...) while Chaka stands over Pell's grave, saying he can't really accept the falcon's death. Vivi watches the Going-Merry diminish into the horizon, with the Marines on their tail. At the palace, the camel is having the time of its life. A man leaves a hospital, headed home -- but he forgot a hat that seems familiar [read: falcon cap print].... And Vivi, seeing Luffy's crew depart, smiles to return to Alubarna.
Afterwards, Alabasta Kingdom, at a speed which amazed the countries around it, showed an amazing recovery.
Meanwhile, on Smoker's ship... Smoker tells Tashigi why Zoro's 60 million was appropriate - not only did he go through the 100 bounty hunters at Whiskey Peak, he defeated Daz Bohness (a bounty-head from West Blue nicknamed "hitman")... more commonly known to readers as Mr.1. Smoker swears to a proper rematch against Luffy's crew in the future. Now, back to the Going-Merry... Luffy, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Chopper are all in tears that Vivi didn't join them. They all curse Zoro in turn when he tells them that they shouldn't cry, and if they felt that strongly about her they should have brought her by force. Zoro decides to leave them alone, when a woman appears from below deck, thanking their efforts to leave the island. Everyone, except for Chopper, is surprised - Zoro in anger, Nami in disblief, Sanji in happiness, Usopp in panic, and Luffy in mild surprise. Zoro draws his sword, and Nami her staff; but arms spring out to whack them out of their hands as Nico muses that she told them once before to not point such dangerous objects towards her. Nami asks when she boarded the ship, and Nico replies that she's been on the ship for quite a while - enough to read and take a shower below deck (and borrow Nami's clothes while she's at it). She asks Luffy if he hasn't forgotten what he did to her. Luffy replies that he did nothing; but Nico replies that he's done something she can't bear, and that he needs to take responsibility for his actions by.... taking her along as part of his fleet!?!?
