Jimcat's Old Geek Code
This was based on an old version of the Geek Code. It's since been
revised and expanded, and I've posted an
updated version. But the new version leaves out some information
that the new one included, so I've left this one intact.

Some further explanation, for those who may need it:
- GS/CS/O
- Geek of Science, Computer Science, and Other. I was disappointed to see
that there was no "Geek of History" category. Also, if there is such a thing
as a Geek of Railroads, then I'm sure I qualify.
- d(++)
- When not at work, my clothing is fairly nondescript. Since I work in the
financial industry, though, I do spend a good portion of my time dressed
in a suit.
- -p+
- I have yet to find a political party in whose views I don't find some
fatal flaw. I think that anyone who actually wants to run for political
office should be automatically disqualified.
- c++
- Computers have been a major part of my life since I entered
college.
- l
- Right now I don't have a computer that's powerful enough to support
Linux, although one of my goals for 1996 is
to do something about that. So this may
change soon.
- u+
- Although I'm not a programmer, I learned just enough Unix to be
dangerous while I was at RPI. As far as
I'm concerned, all the other operating systems are either poor substitutes
or kiddie toys.
- e+
- One of these days I may actually get some sort of college degree.
- m*(--)
- I have fairly broad tastes in music, but I
love to blast that rock'n'roll when I can.
- s+/
- I'm about six feet tall with a medium build.
- n+(---)
- I try to keep a healthy diet. But dammit, I'll never give up my Fritos
and Coke.
- h
- After six years of living as a college student, I got sick of dealing
with shared apartments and got a place of my own. Definitely an improvement.
- f+
- There are very few people I don't get along with. I have what I consider
a good number of friends.
- g-
- I'm severely myopic, to the extent that I literally couldn't walk down
the street safely without my glasses or contact lenses. Fortunately it's
completely correctable. I've had contact lenses since I was in eighth grade,
and very rarely wear glasses in public. If you ever saw me wearing my
glasses, you'd understand why.
- w+(-)
- Sometimes I act pretty weird, for a normal person. Sometimes I act
pretty normal, for a weirdo.
- t+
- There are very few good shows on television, in my opinion. Star Trek
is one of the few I don't mind watching.
- r-
- I used to play a lot of role playing games up until high school, then
lost interest. I dabbled in a few when I got to
RPI, but all things considered, I can think of a lot of better things
to do with my time.
- y+
- I'm male, hetero, and believe in the importance of practicing
safe sex. And that's all that
I really want to go into here about my sex life.
