Recently took up knitting,
perhaps spurred by meowa & thanks to the Stitch
'N Bitch book, I somewhat know how! Here Reginald models the hat I
made for my 1st project. It was supposed to be a cat eared hat per 1 of the patterns
in the SnB book, & I didn't get it done in time for AX but I continued
anyway up to what you see here. It was too small for my fat head, and
Master laughed when I wore it. So now I've put it on permanent hold,
unless I can find someone who has a smaller head and wants me to continue
adding on the rest of the acoutrements.
I'm currently working on a keyhole scarf w/ K1 P1 ribbing. It will take forever.
But here is a tinsel-y looking scarf I made
from 2 balls of Lion Brand Fun Fur (Confetti).
Beaded Bobby Pins
I bought the Klutz
Beaded Bobby Pins book before I went on a flight, to give me something
to do, and I needed something to hold my hair up anyway. I've since made
more for friends, but here are the ones I have currently: @ upper left
are long basic pins, gold & blue seed beads on gold wire (My attempt @
Cal colors!); @ lower left are regular basic pins, clear & pearl & purple & lavender seed beads, 1 w/
green leaves & flower-ish arrangement; @ right is 1 regular funky pin w/
green tubes & gold & green seed beads w/ a button & gold flower bead -
hard to handle & so I hardly use it. In general, if there're things
hanging off the body of the bobby pin, it's hard to handle and I'm
discouraged from using it. I usually use those long ones.
I got these skull beads from The Bead Asylum and wanted to use
them in some bobby pins. I like them for they are eViL-ish. Huh, they
have 2 nostrils instead of a single nose hole...
Hemp
I bought the Klutz
Hemp Bracelets book, just 'cuz. So I made some bracelets. I used
mostly square knot for the red beaded one @ left & you can make braided
bracelets w/ the leftovers. I had made one w/ rainbow wish beads but I've
lost it in my room w/in 2 hours of making it >_<;; and made the braided
one @ right w/ the other leftovers - I'll likely use it in a geocache.
(Update: I found the missing bracelet; it's too big for me so it'll
be geocache fodder.)
Sewing
I bought some remnants from JoAnn's and a bit
of silver cord to make this dice pouch. I used a CD-sized circle to
form the base so it's ~15" for this cylindrical bag. Mostly sewing
machine work. It's not top quality but it's good enough!
