hate groups & gay marriages

I guess there are cons/gatherings for everything, including hate groups. And this afternoon, the radio was announcing a tv news program focusing on hate groups in California, "nearly half are in the Bay Area". (I guess that shouldn't be too much of a surprise, seeing as there's only 2 major urban areas people usually think of when they hear "California".) But reading through that article, I stopped around midway as it was still disturbing to know that out there, hate groups are gathering and wishing/plotting the demise of others. But I can be disturbed easy enough, like that time we went to Further Confusion. Yeah, that was weird.

I wonder what defines a hate group? Can people against gay marriages be considered "hate"? I guess not as they don't wish harm or eradication really, but they're denying other human beings something that they are normally able to do themselves. I guess that's just discrimination.

I have no problems with gay marriages: doesn't harm me directly or even indirectly probably. May everyone be happy, and may all those conservative groups go find something else to conserve, like our dwindling forests. And even if these current gay marriages are rendered invalid, I imagine in the future, they will be happening again. I would guess that marriage counselors will have to learn a few more things though when dealing with these types of couples, hehe!
