1938 and Packard Motor Car Company was still feeling the
hurt of the great depression. While this car (see the next image also) is still a PACKARD in all respects,
it no longer has quite the same edge of class that the mark carried during the classic period. The lines
are beginning to show the first signs of the more modern design idiom but enough of the classic prevails that
the result is somewhat unsatisfying.
