Powers: Alpha Level Telepath. Also pretty handy when it comes to translating and throwing dictionaries.
Captain Synopsis is the current leader of the AX-Men, and is responsible for many of the changes that have taken place. He has, for example, redesigned the AX-Men's airship, the Hummingbird. His powers are telepathic/telekinetic in nature; although he is an alpha level telepath, prolonged use of his powers gives him a migraine and makes him extremely cranky.
Captain synopsis also possess the mutant power of translation.
In reality (surely you've heard of it?), Captain Synopsis is the editor of The Anime Reference Guide, a publication of the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (the fine people who bring you Anime Expo every year). The Anime Reference Guide (or ARG, as we affectionately--and sometimes not-so-affectionately--call it) is a collection of synopses of anime shows, ovas, and films. Every year staff members labor under grueling sweatshop conditions to bring a teeny tiny bit of joy into the otherwise dismal lives of anime fans.
Captain Synopsis is the chief writer and the editor for this stellar publication (available at fine Japanese animation outlets and comic books shops everywhere), and is currently embarking on his fourth year on the ARG. As a result, sometimes he acts just a little bit weird, and some pretty strange things result. Witness:

The AX BBQ: This Labor Day weekend, an Anime Expo Staff Barbeque was held in lovely Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA. Captain Synopsis was there with his camera and managed to get quite a few interesting snapshots of his (soon to be former) friends. Once his friends see these pictures, Captain Synopsis will be really glad that he does not live within striking distance.
